Word98 Frequent File Corruption
Over the past year I have been encountering frequent file corruption when creating documents using Microsoft Word 98. This occurs when the file contains either:
(a) many graphics
(b) many tables and/or multiple form fields
This problem occurs on both my PowerCenter Pro 210 (604e) and my new iMac 333MHz G3. Most recently it occurs under OS 8.6 but it also was evident under 8.5.1. It is very troublesome because I use Word to keep my medical records and most of my documents use tables and for

m fields extensively. Corruption is most unwelcome and often wastes hours of time.
I read a related (but closed) thread here at MacFixIt reporting file corruption with tables in Word. One suggestion therein was to disable Fast Save. I've always worked with Fast Save off, so this doesn't prevent the problems, at least in my experience.
I've tried reinstalling Word 98 and running the combined updater from Microsoft's web site. However, these procedures have had no effect on the problem.
